Fiduciary Accounting Technician – Legacy Resolution, Guy Carpenter - Witham

We are excited to announce a great opportunity to join our established team responsible for accounting and settlement duties through the investigation and resolution of aged and complex matters within Guy Carpenter, Client Support Services (CSS). This role will be based in Witham and is a hybrid role.

We welcome candidates with experience from a broad range of roles within the reinsurance or insurance sectors. However, significant experience in accounting and settlement activities is essential for success in this role.

We will count on you to:

Take responsibility for own workload, including where necessary definition of cases and associated issues. 

Work with a high degree of autonomy in relation to more routine aspects, liaising effectively with senior colleagues where guidance or escalation is required.

Partner with the Operations Specialists to support with root cause analysis and developing improved process, protocols and behaviours to improve outcomes in the future.

Furthermore provide expertise on reinsurance coverage assessment, processing of premiums and/or loss transactions and associated cash follow up, plus the application and disbursement of funds due.

Maintain at all times a strong focus on the resolution of issues for clients and CSS in the broadest terms. Ensure actions taken are meaningful to conclude issues or develop traction to do so.

Liaise effectively with CSS and Guy Carpenter client facing colleagues where necessary to ensure a coordinated approach is taken.

Ensure clear audit trail in relation to work undertaken, especially complex and/or historic matters.

Develop and maintain clear working papers supporting investigative work undertaken and/or methodologies used to support conclusions or proposals to senior management such as utilisation of reserves or application of Guy Carpenter credit write back policy and/or  processing of complex accounts.

What you need to have:

​Knowledge of reinsurance concepts and principles, laws and regulatory requirements (i.e., FSA) and general business trends

Track record of successful client account management, relationship management, engagement and development

Successful management of workload; able to manage expectations of all clients and stakeholders

What makes you stand out?

Experience of insurance or reinsurance accounting and settlement activities.

Demonstrable record of accomplishment of successful financial remediation or issue resolution including commercial or similar negotiation.

Positive attitude, willingness to offer and execute ideas and solutions to enhance processes within a changing environment.

Data management and analytical skills.
