FHFRR Engineering Manager

Babcock is looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Fixed High Frequency Radio Refresh (FHFRR) team based in Devonport, Auckland.

You’re confident managing technical risk, guiding investigations, and delivering practical solutions aligned with both policy and purpose. You enjoy mentoring others, value continuous improvement, and understand how to navigate Defence compliance. You don’t just solve problems—you lead innovation. Key Required Skills

 

Leadership in engineering and maintenance functions Advanced technical judgement and decision-making Engineering lifecycle and product safety awareness Strong communication and stakeholder engagement Familiarity with engineering tools (PLM, MRP systems) Team development and coaching experience Risk assessment and quality assurance Project planning, budgeting, and reporting

 

Key Required Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Washington Accord-accredited or equivalent) Chartered Engineer status (or eligibility for it) Additional qualifications in engineering, technical, or management specialisms Eligible for NZ Defence Security Clearance (DSC + SV)
