Your Opportunity
The GIS Analyst will join Stantec’s Environmental Services business operating unit, primarily concentrating on FEMA Floodplain Mapping and Water Resources projects across the United States. The selected candidate will preferably be located near our Lexington, Kentucky Louisville, Kentucky, Nashville, Tennessee, Houston, Texas, or Raleigh, North Carolina offices.
Your Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the design and management of GIS databases along with the compiling of geographic information to support specific GIS project tasks. Developing high-quality cartographic work products both in the desktop and web environments. Conduct complex spatial analyses using both vector and raster data types to provide insights into environmental, planning, and engineering project tasks. Design and configuration of mobile data collection workflows using Esri-specific mobile applications. Adhering to established cartographic standards and Quality Assurance/Quality Control processes. Use geospatial technologies and analysis to creatively solve challenges for our clients.Your Capabilities and Credentials
Significant experience working with the Esri ArcGIS Platform (i.e., ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online). Experience with ArcGIS Online and/or Portal to publish project sensitive data within custom web maps and applications for consumption by project teams, the client and/or public. Experience configuring Esri mobile data collection applications (e.g., ArcGIS Collector/Field Maps, ArcGIS Survey123, QuickCapture) to meet a wide variety of project field data collection needs. Proficient in both vector and raster data management and analysis techniques. Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to perform work accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Ability to meet project deadlines and understand how assigned tasks relate to overall project goals. Ability to working in a multi office team environment. Ability to work with a variety of people and professions with tact, courtesy, and professionalism. Ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships.Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or an advanced degree in GIS, geology, geomatics, geotechnical engineering, environmental science, or related field with demonstrated GIS training or coursework. 3 to 5 years of demonstrated professional work experience performing GIS tasks. An equivalent combination of recent education and job experience may be sufficient to successfully perform the essential job duties. Demonstrated skills in python scripting will be considered valuable. Prior experience within a consulting environment will be considered valuable. Specific experience providing GIS services within the Floodplain Mapping, Environmental Services, Power & Dams, Mining, and Oil and Gas industry sectors will be considered a strength but is not required.Past Applicants: Past applicants are encouraged to reapply if not selected from previous openings.
