FEM/Strength Calculation Specialist (Rolling Stock)

Your responsibilities will include overall responsibility for strength calculations (rolling stock, sub-systems and components) with overlap to suppliers and the project team.

Main responsibilities:

Performing strength analyses and demonstrating compliance with strength requirements of vehicle bodies and individual components. Defining prescriptive and project-specific strength requirements, including ensuring that they are met Development and optimization of a wide range of rolling stock components in terms of technical requirements and manufacturing costs Working with FEM-based tools, especially in Hyperworks and Ansys environments Cooperation mainly with Czech and German colleagues on the selection of suitable materials, manufacturing technologies and technical solutions Collaboration and support of suppliers, evaluation of external calculation reports, suggestions for improvement where appropriate Project management support in Engineering

 

Key qualifications:  

University degree in a technical field, ideally mechanical engineering Multiple years of experience with FEM calculations by implicit solver, experience with Ansys FEM solver and knowledge of Hyperworks software a big advantage Knowledge of strength analysis issuesExperience with non-linear calculations, fatigue and bolted joint calculations an advantage Ability to assess risks and critical points, evaluate calculations, suggest design modifications German and English - one language very well and at least the basics of the other, fluency in Czech Very good communication and organizational skills Self-sufficiency, reliability and willingness to work on oneself Experience in the field of rolling stock and knowledge of EN 12663 an advantage Experience in design and 3D modelling an advantage
