ABOUT THE ROLE 

Do you want to directly impact the future golf clubs played by professional golfers and golfers around the world?  It can start here.  This role works closely with CAD engineers to create designs that meet performance and structural requirements. Through a deep understanding of design principles, you are able to iteratively refine designs based on simulation and real-world results.  The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principles, design for manufacturability, and simulation tools. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The Callaway Golf R&D Team is a group of passionate engineers, scientists, and designers who are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible in golf.  They are always on the forefront of new technology.  The R&D Team is currently using artificial intelligence to optimize the performance of Callaway's golf clubs while marrying the craftsmanship and aesthetic style of truly great clubs. They are responsible for developing the next generation of golf products, technology, and measurement, and their work is helping to make the game more enjoyable for golfers of all levels. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Evaluate new concepts in FEA prior to physical manufacturing. Ability to create and adjust algorithms to drive FEA iterations

Investigate key design parameters and their relationship to product performance. Perform structural, vibration, and acoustic analysis of new concepts and designs.

Proactively interface with the Global Engineering Group related to the production implementation of new performance characteristics and designs.

Seek and evaluate external concepts to bring outside technology to golf designs and fabrication.

Write reports and present project findings, status, and timelines in project reviews.

Travel as required to supply base, trade shows, both domestically and abroad.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

​Knowledge and experience utilizing engineering fundamentals and testing methods.

Strong knowledge of Finite Element Analysis codes (LS-DYNA, Hyperworks) preferred.

Ability to utilize Siemens NX or equivalent CAD program is a bonus.

Experience with Siemens TCUA or equivalent PLM system is a bonus.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint is required.

Ability to lead technical discussion and report project status. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Understanding and interest in the game of golf is helpful.

Valid US passport required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Math, Physics, Statistics or equivalent required.

Minimum 3 years related experience.
