Fastener Engineer

What you’ll be able to do:

Collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing teams to eliminate, minimize, and commonize assembly joints on new electric vehicle programs.  Develop, validate, and implement innovative joining solutions that simplify products and improve manufacturing efficiency. Own fastener and clip validation for full vehicle programs, including test management, root cause analysis, and test documentation. Lead fastener and clip CAD authoring and PLM library management for full vehicle programs, ensuring systems and processes for engineers to apply fasteners is efficient and scalable.  Ensure quality at launch in partnership with manufacturing by specifying appropriate assembly equipment and torque tools, and validating assembly design conditions are met in production. Train design engineers on fastener and clip fundamentals to promote more robust and efficient assembly design.

 

Our preferred requirements:

3+ years experience designing, prototyping, and testing mechanical joining systems 3+ years experience in electric vehicle engineering Proficiency in manufacturing assembly methods and GD&T Strong proficiency in Dassault 3DExperience or Catia V5 CAD software Working knowledge of vehicle dynamics, automotive safety regulations, and vehicle load case development

The minimum requirements we seek:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent 7+ years experience in automotive or related field Strong engineering fundamentals, and ability to apply broadly to mechanical joining systems and manufacturing processes Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling Proficiency in Atlassian and Microsoft productivity suites Excellent technical collaboration through written and verbal communication Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic work environment
