About the Team and You:

At Resmed, we are driven by purpose and innovation. The Field Investigations team is dedicated to supporting our world-leading Sleep-Disordered Breathing devices, masks, and ventilators. We investigate field performance and product quality issues, conduct component-level root cause analysis, and extract insights from real-world data to continually enhance our offerings.

We’re seeking a Field Investigations Engineer to join our team in Moreno Valley. This role is a hybrid of technical investigation and data-driven insight generation, combining technical investigation with analytics of postmarket field data.

Your Impact – What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of the investigation team, you'll collaborate globally across Sydney, Singapore, and U.S. teams. You’ll be a technical anchor for both hands-on investigations and data analytics. You’ll:

Failure Analysis Responsibilities:

Inspect, test, and evaluate returned medical devices from the field.Perform Root Cause Analysis investigations on electronic and electromechanical components.Work closely with service centers, third-party partners, and occasionally select customers to gather insights on product concerns.Lead and document product risk assessments in accordance with regulatory standards.Liaise with product development, manufacturing, and suppliers to drive resolution through design or process changes.Generate clear, actionable investigation reports.

                                    

Participate in CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) and quality system activities.

Data Analytics Responsibilities:

Analyze postmarket Digital Health data (e.g., device usage, performance, failure patterns).Identify trends, outliers, and correlations across devices, patient segments, or geographies.Translate analytics insights into field investigation actions or systemic improvements.Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience 

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering (or similar).3+ years’ experience in a fault-finding or failure investigation role within a regulated industry.Strong hands-on skills with electronic testing and analysis.Proficient in Excel and experience with analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Python, SQL).Strong communication skills with experience collaborating across global teams.

Preferred

Experience in the medical device or life science sectors.Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Quality Systems Regulations.Knowledge of performing risk assessmentsAbility to translate large datasets into actionable engineering insights.

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is:

80,000 – 119,000 USD Annual
