Visiting Scholar

The Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Surgery, at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a Visiting Scholar to work in the research program directed by Dr. George K. Gittes. This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working research scholar who is a highly self-motivated individual.

Job description: Responsibilities will include research work as assigned by the principal investigator, which will include conducting experimental studies; collecting and recording experimental data, and interpreting and presenting data in oral and written forms under the direction of Dr. Gittes.

Requirements: Candidates should possess an M.D./PhD degree. They should be able to independently do literature research, design, and conduct experiments carry out data analysis, and report the results. Candidates should also have an effective command of the English Language and evidence of effective writing and interpersonal skills. Experience in bioinformatics analysis is preferred but not required.
