Overall leadership and responsibility for Research, Technology, Innovation and Partnership in the faculty with oversight from the Dean Manage general research activities in the Faculty (e.g chairing Faculty proposal defences; maintaining a database for research funding etc) Provide appropriate academic and administrative leadership Provide oversight in conjunction with head of departments to appointment for Adjunct Professors, Research Fellows and postdoctoral fellows Evaluate ConfCom and URF applications Chair Faculty Research Committee Represent the Faculty in appropriate Committees (incl. regional and national committees) Measure and report on RTIP progress to relevant stakeholder and institutional committees Participate in quality assurance activities Manage the Faculty research fund Assist in research policy development of the University Promote research development of staff and students Maximize education and research opportunities and support research uptake initiatives Liaise between the institutional research office and Faculty Coordinate research colloquia and workshops for the Faculty Coach and mentor inexperienced researchers Supervise postgraduate students Develop and maintain linkages with industry, professional bodies and promote community participation Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Dean
