The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals and objectives of OHSU, the School of Medicine, the University hospitals and clinics and include:
Drive and participate in the research mission of the university, as applied to patients with multiple myeloma;Participate in the education of medical students and house staff in accordance with assignments to the department by the Curriculum Committee and Chair.It is anticipated this position will be made up of the following components: Research, Clinical, Teaching, and Service.
Function/Duties of PositionThe faculty member will join the Myeloma Team and will collaborate closely with the transplant and cellular therapy programs.
Responsibilities to include:
Management of patients with multiple myeloma in the outpatient settingAttending on the inpatient bone marrow/hematologic malignancy service with an emphasis on treating patients with lymphoma and multiple myelomaShared responsibility for on-call coverageCase conferencing with multi-disciplinary teamsCoordination of teaching rounds with Fellows and House-staff assigned to the inpatient or outpatient serviceGrowing the myeloma clinical and research programsFostering collaborative relationships with referring physicians and organizationsMedical direction to CHM Data Managers and Nurse CoordinatorsExperience and expertise in the establishment and maintenance of comprehensive CHM databasesDevelopment and participation in clinical trialsParticipation in administrative committees and councils of OHSU as approved by the Chair and Division HeadEngage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with knowledge and consent of the Chair and Division Head. Required Qualifications MD, MD/PhDLicensed to practice medicine in OregonBoard certified in Internal MedicineBoard eligible/certified in Hematology and/or oncology Preferred QualificationsProven success working with multi-disciplinary teams, history of training focused in oncology and success in obtaining extramural funds for clinical trials and/or basic science research (if applicable).
