Part-Time Faculty, under the supervision of the Program and Associate Program Directors, has the responsibilities for the management and evaluation of the program’s academic and clinical components. Working in close association with the Academic and Clinical Faculty, the faculty member will work twenty - twenty-nine hours per week and weekly on-site presence is required.
Responsibilities Accreditation:Assists the Academic/ Clinical Coordinator with the following:Maintain accreditation by coordinating the efforts of the PA Program to meet and/or exceed the standards for accreditation (ARC-PA)Maintain IL State Education Dept. (SED) registration of the PA Program by keeping the Program in compliance with the regulations of the Commissioner of Education.Teaching:Instruct first, second, and culminating year students in the following:Physical Diagnosis Lab InstructorCorrelative Medicine/Clinical Skills InstructorInstructor- ProceduresLecturing in area of expertiseAdvisement - first year, second, and culminating year studentsMaster’s capstone advisor -reviewing and grading Master’s projectsCurriculum:Review academic/ clinical curricular content for appropriateness to PA practiceMonitor evaluation of learning objectives, ensure consistent with current best practiceCreate and review academic and clinical examsCommittee Service: Will participate on appropriate committees (as schedule allows) as requested by the Program Director/Program ChairsParticipates in reaccreditation and program evaluation activities as deemed appropriate by the Program Director. Qualifications Education/ ExperienceBachelor of Science requiredMS in Physician Assistant Studies preferredNational Commission Cert of Physician Assistants requiredValid license to practice as a Physician Assistant
Knowledge/ Skills/ AbilitiesDemonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) requiredAbility to solve complex problems and meet deadlines requiredDemonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty and colleagues requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook requiredExceptional analytical, problem solving skills, collaboration, and matrix management skills requiredAbility to deliver online course content.
