The Dell Medical School is looking for a Faculty and Physician Recruitment Lead

Purpose

The Faculty & Physician Recruitment Lead will steward the process of hiring top talent for Faculty & Physician positions across specialties within the Dell Medical School and UT Health Austin by utilizing their understanding of academic medicine and healthcare industry trends. This position will be the liaison and subject matter expert with departments for the successful completion of full cycle recruitment for open positions. The Faculty & Physician Recruitment Lead role is expected to think broadly and implement strategies to engage, assess, and close top talent to help Dell Medical School and UT Health Austin obtain its strategic goals.

Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end full-cycle recruitment process for a variety of Faculty & Physician positions. 

Collaborate with departmental and school leadership, hiring committees and HR to align recruitment strategies with the institution’s academic goals.

Thoroughly understand the departments specific needs, ensuring a comprehensive grasp of the job requirements and desired candidate.

Responsible for managing all aspects of recruitment process including job postings, candidate sourcing, initial screens, preliminary phone intakes, timely communication/presentation of candidate materials to key stakeholders, coordinating virtual interviews and onsite visits, post interview feedback, complex offer negotiations, and onboarding by collaborating with departments to ensure the delivery of best-in-class service.

As needed, prepare detailed search updates, attend meetings with search chair and committee presenting the search status.

Strategize various direct sourcing strategies to identify and attract high-caliber candidates through channels like medical conferences, recruitment events, professional networks, online job boards, residency programs, and publications, focusing on finding candidates with strong academic, clinical and research potential.

Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor insights, and best practices in Faculty & Physician recruitment to continuously improve the hiring process and drive innovation.

Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified talent to support current and future hiring needs.

Establish and maintain a network of potential candidates through proactive market research and ongoing relationship management and candidate engagement.

Manage candidate expectations, provide timely feedback, and ensure that candidates have a positive recruiting experience. Build relationships with potential candidates, provide information about the institution, department, and practice opportunities, and address any inquiries they may have.

Assist departments to develop, maintain and monitor written recruitment processes, procedures, and metrics ensuring effective and efficient recruitment operations.  Conducts post search reviews and creates recommendation reports to identify successful and unsuccessful search elements for ongoing process improvement.

Collaborate with HR Academic Faculty Affairs to ensure accuracy and alignment on rank and professional track of the desired candidate.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 2-4 years of Physician sourcing and/or recruiting experience. A strong understanding of clinical practice, medical specialties, and research methodologies within the healthcare field. Self-starter with the ability to perform and work with little or no direct supervision. Experience managing multiple, conflicting deadlines and priorities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office. Demonstrated excellent analytical skills, problem solving ability, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and respond tactfully, clearly, and concisely. Outstanding organizational and time-management skills. Professional demeanor with tact and respect. Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various delicate, formal, or urgent situations.  Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

CPRP Certification. Experience utilizing Physician sourcing tools such as Doximity, etc. Familiar with Interfolio ATS. Experience in Physician recruitment, ideally with a focus on academic medicine. Extensive professional network within the medical community. Awareness of current trends in healthcare recruitment and competitive landscape within the relevant medical specialties.

Working Conditions

Remote, Hybrid, Onsite Options.

Occasional travel for Faculty & Physician recruitment events.

Occasional weekend, after hours.
