Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff. Work Location Various city facilities with assignments being based on departmental needs. Work Hours 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Monday - Friday Essential Job Functions + Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff. + Attends Pre-Construction and Pre-Bid conferences and other necessary construction meetings. + Attends meetings with citizen groups, community associations and City staff to discuss project scope and implementation. + Coordinates and reviews design work performed by consultants. + Resolves conflicts and other related problems as a result of project construction. + Advises management on project problems, delays, quality control, and presents possible solutions. + Reviews contractors' requests for payment. + Inspects construction sites to determine project progress. + Responds to request for project information from City Management staff, City Council, the press and citizens. + Prepares construction related reports, correspondence, and ordinances for City Council action. + Prepares and monitors budget. + Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. Job Requirements + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. + Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in construction project management or supervisory experience. + Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications + Ability to develop and manage in-house work plans, read and write specifications, and read and develop drawings. + Experience with SAP and facility maintenance work order systems. + Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
