Job Description:
Baptist Health is looking for a Facility HIM Lead Tech to join our team. This is a remote position that requires residency in KY or IN
Serves as support to the HIM Director and Supervisor with respect to managing special projects within the HIM departments at each facility when needed. Assists in monitoring all HIM functions, ensuring that the departmental goals and objectives are met. Monitors work queues to ensure completion and reports to HIM Manager all deficiencies and/or timeliness issues with que completion. Promotes corporate integrity through compliance with the BHS Corporate Responsibility Program.
Essential Duties:
Evaluate daily HIM workflows and modify as needed.
Assess workflow challenges, issues, and keep management informed of their status.
Monitor staff productivity and report to management.
Evaluate coverage for staff breaks and lunches, making necessary adjustments.
Orient new employees to the department and staff using the orientation checklist.
Provide EPIC and OnBase training to HIM employees, hospital staff, and providers.
Serve as a role model within the department, promoting professional behavior and customer-oriented service.
Identify issues and make recommendations to ensure adequate coverage, quality of work, teamwork, positive morale, and customer service.
Communicate with clinical/office staff for completion and correction of records.
Collaborate with appropriate departments or teams to resolve system problems and user concerns.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required
High School/GED; associate or bachelor’s degree / RHIT / RHI preferred.
Two years job related experience
• RHIA certification equates to 4 years of HIM work experience.
• RHIT certification equates to 2 years of HIM work experience.
Two years minimum computer experience, with proficiency in data entry and basic MS Office applications including Word and Excel required.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology required
Notary public/eligible to obtain as needed
