Position Overview

Incumbent has responsibility for service and maintenance of the facility and ensures efficient operation of all building systems. This position is responsible for overall service operations and maintenance of the facility by ensuring internal customer expectations are exceeded by performing maintenance and repair services, supervising sub-contractors with a focus on safety and quality.

 

Key Responsibilities

Manages the operation of HVAC equipment, security system, fire alarms, plumbing and electrical systems, and monitors the operation of the building Energy Management Systems by making evaluations, adjustments, and corrections for the building using CMMS and BAS where applicable Directs daily operation of maintenance team and work requests for the facility. Coordinates with building management company for leased sites and inhouse janitorial maintenance staff. Coordinates building preventive systems maintenance (i.e., re-lamping, lighting, roof cooling towers, pumps, motors, valves, and complete boiler operation). Understands and implements building emergency procedures (i.e., building evacuation, fire alarm procedures and resets, elevator emergency controls and operations, back-up generator operation and repairs) as necessary. Leads facility maintenance quality compliance and leads department participation in customer audits. Leads Facilities Department to ensure needs of the employees of building are met, including 24-hour on-call service, and coaching staff to ensure operational goals and objectives are met. Develop long term planning recommendations for infrastructure and utility upgrades and submit strategies for capital funding requests. PAPR/Respirator use required

 

Required Qualifications:

Level of Education: GED Experience: 6-8 years of building operations, facility support, and maintenance required including the ability to perform basic electrical and plumbing repairs. Experience with building support functions - Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Energy Management systems, Wastewater Treatment, Pollution Control Systems, Emergency, Fire, Evacuation procedures, building security, safety and sanitation requirements. Good aptitude for all phases related to outside contractor bidding procedures. Prior supervisory experience with demonstrated participative management and leadership skills. Manages the operation of HVAC equipment, security system, elevators, fire alarms, plumbing and electrical systems. A thorough knowledge and expertise in all disciplines is required. An understanding of GMP and food manufacturing best practices. Interpersonal Skills: Requires exceptional interpersonal skills necessary for building and sustaining positive relationships, trust, and credibility with internal customers and contractors for the benefit of accomplishing mutual goals. Courtesy and tact is critical to the position. Regular contact with Contractors, to include cleaning crew. Regular contact with building contractors, service vendors, all representatives of maintenance companies providing service to facility. Other Skills: Must be proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word) and SAP S4 HANA - Excellent customer service skills. Exercises good judgment in difficult and/or emergency situations -Adaptability Excellent interpersonal skills, courteous and professional attitude.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Level of Education: Trade School, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or related field Certification and/or Licenses: Journeyman or Master’s License in relevant field Experience -Industrial food manufacturing, Small projects planning and execution, Budget and estimating experience Other Skills: Microsoft Project, Visio

Base Salary: $72,930 - $127,640

 

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
