Facilities Engineer

Position Description:

Candidate will be an employee of the Fiber Plant Facilities Department.  The person shall provide technical support in the area of Facilities support equipmentProvide support in the manufacturing of optical fiber with a focus on facilities managementCompliant with all requirements in 40 CFR 261-265 concerning hazardous wastes including but not limited to labeling, storage and transportation of hazardous wastes from production areas to Waste Storage PadWork with the technical staff to resolve daily issuesSupport the commissioning of new equipment for productionEnsure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management SystemsComply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelinesOther duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management 

Education Required:       

Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:      

Bachelor’s Degree in EngineeringMechanical or Electrical Engineering experienceMinimum three years experience

Experience Required:

Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner

Preferred:

Experience in fiber optic manufacturing a plusExperience with Chiller maintenance and optimizationExperience with pollution control equipment (Baghouse, Scrubber etc…)Experience with Compressor maintenance and optimizationExperience with high purity piping and gas delivery systemsExperience with fire detection equipmentExperience with power distribution systems and UPS systems

                       

Skills/Attributes:

Strong data analysis skillsExcellent communication skillsKnowledge of Basic Statistical ToolsDetail and quality orientatedMotivated Team PlayerAbility to work with little supervision
