Facilities Project Inspector - Journeyman Plumber
Ideal candidate will be a Journeyman Plumber. SUMMARY The primary purpose of the Facilities Project Inspector position is to represent Facilities Management projects providing quality control and inspection expertise in the area of architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural systems. Provides quality control and inspection services on construction projects to ensure materials and equipment in any phase of manufacture, shop or field fabrication, delivery or installation comply with contract documents. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Program Implementation Performs inspections. Program Support Prepares reports of inspections. Other duties as assigned. + Inspects architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical or plumbing system for compliance with contract provisions and acceptable quality and performance standards. + Reviews plans and specifications for errors, omissions and conflicts, referring items in question or dispute to the Architect, Engineer or Project Manager. + Ensures that materials conform to specifications and approved shop drawings, overseeing removal of materials not complying. + Plans and oversees required tests. + Ensures alignment and balancing are done properly and deficiencies are corrected. + Prepares and maintains job records to include test results. + Works with contractors, consultants and M.D. Anderson representatives to resolve problems. + Participates in overhead and beneficial occupancy inspections. Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Sciences or other construction-related field. Three years of project management/construction management experience or ten years of experience in the related construction trade to include one year of supervisory experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. Preferred: Journeyman Plumber License.
