Facilities Project Coordinator

The Facilities Project Coordinator at Micron Technology is responsible for leading all aspects of an assigned project to include clarifying and detailing the scope, schedule, and budget! The Project Coordinator will also ensure that the resources needed for a successful project are available and coordinated into the project team! In addition, the Project Coordinator’s responsibility is to employ all vital project controls to meet the project objectives and ensure team safety. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Safety & Quality:Ensures that the team plans all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron safety policiesStops work for safety if unsafe conditions and/or behaviors are identifiedEnsures project team members use job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performedCollaborates with internal Micron partners, such as Safety, Environmental, and Legal to ensure all regulatory requirements for the projects are being metEnsures the project team follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws including PPE, CoHE (lockout/tagout) and chemical safetyFollows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with partnersActively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately (maximum 24 hours)Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catchesAlways wears appropriate PPE, per JHA, Supervisor, EHS professionals, and/or job designationProactively finds opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environmentUses accurate lifting techniques and works in an ergonomically accurate mannerFollows accurate organizational change practices to ensure safety & quality expectations are metEnsures specifications, standard and checklists are aligned with corporate guidelinesLeads lessons learned type activities per area of expertiseSupports engineering coordinators with facilitating design reviews to ensure project design meets manufacturer’s and company guidelines for safety & quality expectationsEnsures a robust Safety program is in place and maintained throughout the projectCommunication & Collaboration:Partners with key team members to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metricsCoordinates with partners and leaders on issues and changes, and provides regular status updatesPerforms project cost estimates, forecasts, project cash flows and capital budget acquisitionControls and monitors budget and project spending against the approved fundsControls scope during the design and construction phases to maintain cost and schedule controlPrepares and maintains monthly cash flow projectionsEnsures requirements of ECBP are followedProject Management/Planning:Uses a systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize and lead projectsPartners with collaborators to secure timely funding, develop overall project strategy and critical path scheduleHandles projects to ensure results are completed within the required scope, schedule and budgetSupervises actions and provides critical issue path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on timeDefines and leads sophisticated, multi-disciplinary projects of critical importance to MicronEnsures regular communication to team members of project status, roadblocks, and path to successClarifies and documents project scope and ensures vital guidance from appropriate collaboratorsEnsures that scope meets requestor needsCollaborates with consultant resourcesCoordinates and leads meetings and initiates follow-up actionsFollows organizational change proceduresWorks with appropriate personnel to address problems or make correctionsSupports of develops RFQs for construction activities and leads vendor selectionHandles vendor contract during execution of projectsRuns the project programming & development activitiesCollaborates with Procurement and Global Facilities to run competitive bidding processes aligned to selected project strategyIdentifies, obtains and adjusts project resources as neededDevelops detailed resource loaded project schedules & supervises performanceLeads project financials and supervises performance to budget and work in placeHandles project roadblocks that arise such as routing, timing, or labor issuesTechnical/Data Analysis:Analyzes systems data to make critical decisions, improve performance, gain efficiency, and drive cost savingsProvides effective and timely guidance to resolve issues and is highly engaged in key problem resolutionProvides solving support for sophisticated problems and addresses root causePerforms problem analysis using standard tools and methodologiesSupports risk and/or failure mode and effects analysisPartners with key team members to identify gaps and opportunities for efficienciesMaintains applicable subject area knowledgeSupports a culture of TPMIs responsible for the project programming and development activitiesMinimum Qualifications:Relevant degree or appropriate certification/licensing; Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management5+ years of experience as a primary project/facility coordinator for highly technical construction projectsPreferred Qualifications:Certification in Business Process Management such as the PMP.
