Position Summary 

 

Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that facility equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate.  Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace while producing a quality product. 

 

Essential Functions 

Have a thorough understanding of piping and plumbing systems.  Be able to assemble, disassemble, and troubleshoot existing plumbing and piping systems.   

Be able to layout and install compressed air lines, air piping, and associated components. 

Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that facility equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. 

Inspect doors, windows, roofs, piping, building grounds, drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. 

Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments. 

Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine and system malfunctions. 

Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work. 

Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. 

Dismantle and reassemble equipment to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools as needed. 

Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, parts catalogs and other maintenance literature as necessary. 

Be able to execute emergency procedures on facility equipment as needed and be “on call” for off duty emergency repairs.      

This position must be willing to work different shift assignment, for extended periods. 

Recommend and help order equipment and supplies for facility maintenance items. 

Maintain a clean and organized work area. 

Follow all EPC Safety/Environmental, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Lean 5S policies and regulation guidelines.   

Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Skills and Experience 

High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. 

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industrial/facility maintenance 

Use a personal computer to communicate by e-mail, and use EPC software programs such as MSOffice, Share Point, Agile, etc. as needed. 

Proficient troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and complex facility equipment with the capability to diagnose using visual and auditory senses, test components and technical publications. 

Ability to obtain certification to safely operate mobile equipment (scissor lift, fork truck, etc.). 

Ability to see a complex task or project through to completion. 

Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs. and be able to work from heights. 

Must be able to read, write and understand English, and follow verbal and written instructions. 

Ability to follow detailed instructions. 

Ability to document and communicate effectively. 

Self-motivated and ability to work independently. 

Strong organizational skills. 

Basic math and computer skills required.
