Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Facilities Maintenance Technician to join Ultra Maritime SMaP.
This is an exciting opportunity, for a 'hands-on' person to join a well-established company. Ideally you will have a Facilities background within a manufacturing / assembly production environment.
The Facilities Technician will conduct routine inspections, perform ‘visual’ preventive maintenance checks, respond to onsite maintenance calls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help Maintain the Site Facilities Maintenance plan, to ensure all systems are maintained and fully compliant.
Conduct regular inspections of site facilities to identify and resolve any minor issues.
Conduct minor repairs on building structures (Door Hinges / Handles / Locks) etc.
Carry out basic electrical repairs and perform basic maintenance of electrical items (replace light bulbs and clean lighting covers etc.).
Install and set up new office equipment (Tables / Chairs / Cabinets) etc.
Ensure adherence to site quality and health and safety standards.
Be willing to participate in site safety, business improvement and awareness programs.
Communicate with other departmental staff regarding facility and maintenance issues.
Ensure all contractors are accompanied around site, (in the absence of the Site Lead).
Manage the maintenance of the grounds, liaising with contractors and gardeners (as required).
Ensure Site pathways and car parking areas are gritted, in adverse weather conditions.
Perform manual Site repairs when necessary (fix locks, door hinges, windows, blinds etc.).
Visually check heating and plumbing system controls are working correctly.
Occasional Overtime / Weekend / Out of Hours working may be required.
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
A basic understanding of site QHSE requirements.
Good communication skills.
Ability to contribute effectively to a team and consistently promote teamwork.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Basic PC skills.
Flexible working pattern.
Qualifications:
G/CSE Grade C/4 Math’s & English or equivalent.
Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
The successful candidate will need to achieve relevant security vetting level status required for the role.
