Facilities Maintenance Technician II - Full Time

Job Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Engineer II is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair activities associated with the operation of all Xanterra/Grand Canyon Railway facilities. Responsibilities Fully understand and support Xanterra’s Mission Statement, Cultural Pillars, Community Commitment and Core Values. Completes general maintenance assigned maintenance requests, ensuring timely completion, thoroughness and cost effectiveness. Assists in maintaining water softeners according to preventive maintenance schedule in designated areas, including maintaining salt inventory. Ensures proper repair and finishing of doors, desk, tables, chairs and other furniture in the organization to ensure safety and comfort of staff and visitors. Repairs and changes locks in the building and preform lock servicing to ensure safety of all employees and guest. Carrys out ground works by mowing lawns, weeding flower beds, clearing grasses, removing snow and ice on sidewalks to endure a clean and healthy environment. Handle multiple call-outs or work orders, work independently and perform trade call outs as necessary. Operates designated heavy equipment safely and efficiently as necessary and directed. Performs second level maintenance and repairs as related to the preventive maintenance program. Performs second level trade functions such as electrical motor trouble shooting to 220 volts, plumbing, refrigeration/HVAC, basic boiler operation and kitchen equipment repair. Performs Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures. Performs Intermediate carpentry and painting duties as necessary and directed. Reports maintenance problems in an accurate fashion that require trade specific skill and attention. Adheres to all safety, risk management and environmental policies and procedures. Wears all required personal protective equipment in carrying out assigned tasks. Works various shifts as required. Assists less skilled workers in different phases of building, construction and general maintenance and review works performed by them to ensure that they are a good condition. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License, and be able to comply with the Xanterra/GCR Company Vehicle Policy. Minimum three years’ experience in general building maintenance, or in trades such as electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, etc. Must be at least 19 years of age, to comply with GCR Vehicle policy. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly standing, walking, balancing, climbing, twisting, eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, handling, wrist motion, bending/ stooping, ascending and descending ladder. Trunk Strength-The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving our or fatiguing. Static Strength-The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects. Constant carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 10lbs. Frequently carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 25lbs. Occasionally carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 100lbs. Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, and speaking. Will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time on cement floors and to occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.
