Facilities Maintenance Technician** **Southfiled, MI** We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Coatings team in Southfield, MI. **Come create chemistry with us!** BASF’s Coatings division is a global expert in the development, production and marketing of innovative and sustainable automotive OEM and refinish coatings, decorative paints as well as applied surface treatments for metal, plastic and glass substrates in a wide range of industries. This portfolio is supplemented by "Beyond Paint Solutions", which enable new applications with innovative surfaces. **During your day shift as a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will** + Work safely by recognizing when it is necessary to halt work to devise a secure approach for carrying out repairs, as well as authorizing and supervising contractors. + Conduct comprehensive inspections of buildings to identify safety or other maintenance-related issues. + Complete office employee work orders in a timely basis as assigned including basic electrical wiring, basic plumbing skills, furniture moving, hang TVs/Art etc. + Fulfill technical employee work order requests, encompassing tasks such as troubleshooting electrical issues, replacing lights, repairing doors, addressing cabinet drawers, coordinating office moves, replacing ceiling tiles, painting, installing drywall, applying caulking, tiling, managing plumbing, and running ethernet cable, among others. + Landscape, move equipment, and other physical work frequently with weights greater than 50 lbs. **If you...** + A minimum of 5 years of Mechanical Maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial setting. + Thorough understanding and practical application of a wide range of handyman activities, including but not limited to: basic plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electrical work, landscaping, painting, drywall installation, general construction, weatherproofing, and cabinetry. + Knowledge of building systems and standards, with the ability to apply them effectively to mitigate the risk of equipment failure and anticipate potential future problems. + The ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. + A valid state Drivers License. + Flexibility to work up to 1 Saturday of OT monthly. + A professional mechanical certification is required **Create your own chemistry with you@BASF** At BASF, you will have the chance to do meaningful work towards building a more sustainable future.
