Job Title: Facilities Space Planning Intern
Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO or Melbourne, FL
The L3Harris Strategic Space Planning team provides workplace planning, occupancy optimization, and design services for L3Harris managed sites. This Space Planning Intern will be responsible for learning and assisting with:
+ Occupancy database updates, including AutoCAD polylining, space type, and occupancy inputs.
+ Running adhock reporting out of the existing occupancy database
+ Interpreting customer requests, define the scope of work for Facilities Engineering estimates and develop AutoCAD drawings for demo/renovations.
Job Description
+ Member of a corporate Space Planning team to help drive modernization, optimization, and utilization of key sites.
+ Candidate will be involved in several space planning projects at one time and will work in a diverse and changing environment supporting many internal and external customers simultaneously.
+ This role will require skills in: strategic space planning / interior design / data analysis
Qualifications
+ Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, industrial engineering or related field
+ GPA of 3.0 or greater
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience with Archibus and AutoCAD
+ Knowledge of applicable laws/regulations including those mandated by OSHA, ADA, NFPA, NEC, EPA, local Building Codes.
+ Experience working with engineering blueprints, process specifications and building layouts.
+ Self-starter with good written, verbal communication and presentation skills
+ Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
+ Ability to effectively present information.
+ Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
+ Strong organizational and analytical skills.
+ Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
+ Understand process improvement, and project management -- estimating, project schedule, construction, trouble shooting and problem solving
