Temp to Hire **Pay:** $18.00 to $20.00 per hour **Job Type:** Contract (renewable) **Shift:** **7 AM to 330 PM** **Description:** We are looking for a General Facilities Laborer to take up manual labor tasks and support operations on our worksite located in Grand Prairie, Texas. One of the most important general laborer responsibilities is to collect trash, debris and other waste to keep the site clean and safe. You’ll also be responsible for recycling and banding cardboard waste by use of the baling machine . You should be able to concentrate on performing your tasks and commit to safety rules continually. If you fit this description, and you’re also interested in important work, we’d like to meet you. **Responsibilities** + Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material by appropriate disposal methods. + Assist tradespeople on-site by removing and cleaning waste materials in a timely manner. + Handle and transport waste materials (e.g. wood, metal, cardboard) to the appropriate disposal areas. + Separating garbage and waste to ensure proper disposal. + Responsible for use of a sit-down propane forklift to move materials from one area of the warehouse to another. + Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks (e.g. sweeping, dusting, restacking, palletizing or banding) + Put up warning signs (e.g. signposts, cones) for warehouse vehicles and workers. + Help with setting up and transferring temporary structures (e.g. pallets, bales, tables, etc.) + You will be responsible for ensuring that walking and operation floor lines are taped appropriately with fresh tape lines when needed. + Advise management of dumping needs for hazmat, cardboard and all other materials including metal and wood. + Assisting with all other duties as deemed necessary by management. **Requirements** + Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds, etc.) + Good hand-eye coordination + Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus. + Communication and teamwork skills + Commitment to safety rules is a must. + Must be able to adhere to all PPE requirements.
