The Leidos Cargo Mission Contract currently has an opening for a Foam operations technician to work in our Webster, Texas office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your fabrication experience to provide mission support for NASA. This position will provide hands on fabrication support of foam, plastic, and textile products to our cargo and engineering teams through use of hand tools, additive manufacturing, and CNC machining. Primary Responsibilities

Assist the Leidos Foam Operations team by providing manufacturing support to fabricate protective foam assemblies for the protection of hardware being flown to the International Space Station. Additional duties will include providing hands on support for prototyping, 3D printing, soft goods, electronic, large scale mockups, and mechanical components or equipment builds.

Program and operate 3D printersOperate CNC MachinesPerform hands on fabrication of contract productsProvide technical engineering support and perform steps via work authorizing documentsSupport mockup design and developmentMove furniture, support lab organization, facility maintenance, and cleaning as required

Basic Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent, and 10 years related experience in manufacturing and design.Comprehensive experience in the use of powered and unpowered tools to fabricate end itemsThorough understanding of how to read and implement requirements from engineering drawingsExperience mockup fabrication for the NASA communityExperience in operating CNC routersExperience in additive manufacturingExperience in computer aided drafting (CAD) softwareExperience in softgoods fabrication

U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residence status is required.
