Job Title: Instrumentation and Electrical Technician
Job Description

A large manufacturer of gas analyzers is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Electrical Technician. The role involves bending tubing, performing all electrical work related to instrumentation, and fabricating custom tubing and assemblies. Responsibilities include bending ¼” stainless steel tubing, light fabrication, working with pneumatics, and making brackets/standoffs. Electrical work will range from high voltage (110-220V) to light 12V signal wire and wiring PLCs. The candidate will read blueprints and diagrams, use hand tools and measurement devices, and take prints from the engineer to fabricate, wire, and perform all electrical components. The technician will primarily work independently but will have the support of one other technician as needed.

ResponsibilitiesBend ¼” stainless steel tubing and perform light fabrication tasks.Work with pneumatics and make brackets/standoffs.Perform electrical work involving high voltage (110-220V) and light 12V signal wire.Wire PLCs and other electrical components.Read blueprints and diagrams accurately.Use hand tools and measurement devices for fabrication and wiring.Take prints from engineers and fabricate, wire, and perform all electrical components.Essential Skills3+ years of I&E Instrumentation and minor electrical experience.3+ years of manufacturing experience.Ability to bend ¼” stainless steel tubing.Experience working with high voltage up to 220V.Proficiency in reading blueprints.Knowledge of pneumatics.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in tube bending with different alloys.Extensive wiring and troubleshooting of electrical components.Experience with gas analyzers and natural gas metering instrumentation.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The job is located in a small shop in North Houston with a mixed work area next to the warehouse, assembly, and inventory. The facility is climate-controlled, and you will work on the floor with the engineer and 4-8 other technicians. The position requires wearing jeans and steel-toed boots. It is an open-ended contract job with a minimum of 4 weeks of work, with the possibility of extension.

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
