BASIC PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to manage the cases of the shelter residents requiring assistance of The Salvation Army by performing the following duties:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Establish and maintain a safe and secure environment with an emphasis on non-violent communication and intervention. Secure shelter guests’ personal property at intake and at various times throughout the day in designated storage areas Direct shelter guests in cleaning and caring for the shelter areas for sleeping Assisting with shelter guest intakes and appointments with shelter staff Monitor and assist shelter guests in laundry and day room areas Clean and sanitize all sleeping areas, bathrooms, kitchen, and office areas Any other duties relating to your job as requested by the Supervisors and/or Officers. Other related duties as required.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS AA or BA Degree: two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be familiar with the social service aspects of The Salvation Army. Must have reliable transportation Must be 21 years or older.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to operate the telephone. Ability to lift to 25 lbs. Ability to operate a computer. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information. Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, and Printer.
