Job Title: Extrusion Operator, 1st Shift
Summary:This position safely and efficiently performs extrusion of silicone utilizing multiple mechanical equipment to pre-form high consistency silicone rubber to desired customer specifications.
Responsibilities Include:
Essential Functions
+ Ensure that all safety equipment is readily available and that all guards are in place.
+ Refer to batch cards for proper amounts, temperature controls, weights and sequences of extrusion and any other additional instructions.
+ To operate multiple types of extruders and other related equipment when required.
+ As directed, carry out any other tasks of equal or less difficulty.
+ To maintain work area in clean and orderly manner, especially during shift transition.
+ Ability to work independently and multi-task.
+ Must be able to work overtime to cover production demand as required.
Non-Essential Functions
+ To keep written production records on every batch extruded.
+ To receive and relay vital verbal communications with co-workers concerning daily production strategies.
+ To become knowledgeable of basic customer requirements and the equipment and materials used in extrusion, packaging, and finishing.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position demands physical stamina, requiring regular sitting, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, turning, grasping, and movement within the facility. Walking on various surfaces and maintaining balance are essential. Strong sensory abilities, including hearing, sight, and clear speech, are necessary. Lifting to 50 pounds may be required. Certain positions may necessitate passing a fit test and wearing a respirator.
The work environment for this position is a manufacturing setting, which may expose employees to outdoor weather conditions and loud noise levels. Candidates must be adaptable and comfortable working in a traditional business environment. Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
+ Must be able to read and understand written instructions.
+ Must be able to stand for an 8.5-hour shift.
+ Must be able to carry or lift 25 lbs. to shoulder height repetitively and push work-in-process, which could exceed 25 lbs.
+ Effective and safe operation of all extrusion equipment requires the use of both hands.
+ Must be able to read, understand, and speak English.
+ Perform arithmetic operations quickly, accurately, and possess eye-hand motor coordination.
+ Basic writing skills are required in the completion of daily production records.
+ Basic verbal communication skills are required to transfer or interpret the explanation of problems and to receive and understand work assignments.
+ Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $19.31 - $22.27
