Role Context

\n

Overall responsibility of the monitoring of DCE and DCC, reporting any discrepancies to origin gateways, assisting and monitoring of the general operations within the department for example , Low Value Flight clearances, thereby ensuring timeous registration and framing of bills of entries and clearance of relevant flights.

\n

Key responsibilities

\n\nTo integrate quality into the business by ensuring that every customer contact is a demonstration of absolute dedication towards providing first time ideal solutions for the satisfaction of the customers immediate and future needs.\nFrame entries Documentation image viewer of DCE, DCC and documents off parcels), thereby ensuring that exporter, consignee/receiver’s details correspond with supplier’s invoice. Ensure absolute care when choosing tariff headings etc.\nAssisting with shipment processing to aid in shipment movements and containerization from CPT\nAssisting in the adjustments area, (Stops, Liquidation of Provisional Payments, Refunds, and Audit Queries)\nTo activate standard clearance procedure in accordance with DHL priorities and goals.\nTo ensure the accurate preparation of Exports Customs declarations and the timely provision of those for review (as required).\nTo ascertain that all Customs Declaration are vetted, validated and processed as per Local requirements.\nTo ensure all relevant Queues in the system are maintained and entries are being Frame timeously.\nTo determine the correct tariff headings including rebate items and check on correctness of tariff headings applied by customer.\nTo constantly quality check all Entries and related documentation such as worksheets, commercial invoices, permits and exemption certificates for correctness and accurate completion as per the requirements of the Customs and Excise Act of 1964 and/or any subsequent amendments. To integrate quality into the business by ensuring that every customer contact is a demonstration of absolute dedication towards providing first time ideal solutions for the satisfaction of customer’s immediate and future needs.\nTo implement ISO standards and Global SOP procedures at all times.\nTo provide an efficient, friendly & Insanely Customer Centric service to customers so as to maintain service excellence & DHL’s reputation as market leader.\nResponsible to liaise with customs officials, customers, service centres, gateways, management and staff timeously in an effort to increase efficiency of export shipment processing. \nBuild and maintain sound relationships with customs officials, other departments, service centres and customers to ensure timeous movement of export shipments.\nEnsure all paperwork for BLS countries is sent to the relevant parties including checklist.\n

Education & experience

\n\nMatric \nCustoms Clearance Experience\nMinimum of 3 -7 years’ experience in a customs environment including, entries, regulations and compliance\nDHL system knowledge\nPrepared to work on a shift cycle including weekends/public holidays\nExcellent knowledge of practices within the Customs Adjustment environment\nGood interpersonal skills\nReliable, able to plan and organize\nWorks cooperatively with others to achieve targets and objectives\nGood verbal and written and communication skills\n\n
