We're looking for an Expert Footwear Designer to join NXT Basketball team at Nike! The Expert Designer, Footwear has a passion for footwear design, working in a team, and a Passion for the Future of Basketball’s game and Culture

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As an Expert Designer Innovation Basketball, you will be working hand-in-hand with a large project team of different professionals (engineers, researchers, scientists, marketing, testing, sustainability, materials, costing, etc.), collaborating within the design community (industrial designers, materials, color, graphics, computational, etc.), and mentoring other designers. You will work under the direction of our Design Director of Basketball and VP of Footwear Design Innovation.

As our Expert Footwear Designer in Nike Innovation, you will build industry-leading innovative footwear designs (but not limited to) from concept to reality. Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, a related field or equivalent combination of education, experience or training8 years’ experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other productsKnowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experienceAbility to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narrativesExperience in technical footwear design - basketball is a plusStrong Photoshop, Illustrator skillsMust be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus3D design programs experience is a plusStrong sketching, illustration, and rendering skillsSolid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materialsMust be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each projectKnowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plusExperienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.Positive personality and energyAbility and passion to lead, mentor and onboard Design teammatesContribute and align to shared team culture and behaviorsCatalyst to make connections with other Design groupsLead + drive partnerships beyond the Design function (Marketing, Engineering, Development, etc.)Motivated and hardworking about bringing others alongExtraordinary teammate, and humble leaderCollaborator with a skill in connecting the dotsSpeaks up with courage for self and the teamOpen minded, good listener, receptive to candid feedback and diverse points of viewWHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As a top-tier designer with deep knowledge and experience in footwear, you will be seen as a team leader and mentor for other designers.
