Experienced Software Engineer - Customer Risk

Plaid's Customer Risk team is responsible for managing Plaid's risk from the lens of customers, both new and existing. We are a brand new team that owns a Plaid topline goal for 2024 and is key to the revenue potential of Plaid. Our roadmap for the year includes:
1. building out a new risk engine that allows us to seamlessly onboard customers while ensuring compliance with new and existing regulations building out a platform that continuously monitors risk for existing customers2. building out a platform that continuously monitors risk for existing customers
You will build a risk platform that allows us to seamlessly onboard customers. Your work will impact the company's risk posture and revenue potential. You will drive multi-quarter, cross-team, cross-service technical projects. You will partner with product and engineering leads to define our team's multi-year technical roadmap. You will engage in hands-on coding and architectural design, setting and maintaining high technical standards for a high performing team. You will debug, troubleshoot, and harden our risk platform. You will grow the team via mentorship and leadership, reviewing technical documents and code changes.ResponsibilitiesLead one of the most critical work-streams and goals for the company's most important goal for the year. Gain extensive collaboration opportunities with cross functional leaders across the company (Risk Operations, Product, GTM, Network Enablement, Customer Growth and Experience, Billing), influence technical direction across several critical teams. Learn to navigate significant technical and organizational complexity to drive impactful outcomesOpportunity to grow their scope from one area (Customer Risk) to a larger organizational scope (Product Platform that encompasses several teams e.g Consumer Risk, Privacy Governance etc)Qualifications8+ years of experience with extensive experience in software engineering with a proven track record of shipping successful projects.Extensive hands-on experience in software engineering with a proven track record of shipping successful projects.Excellent cross functional collaboration, communication and project management skills.Excellent coding, testing and system design skills.Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.Experience working with operations, product, design, and data science.[Nice-to-have] Experience in the customer risk/due diligence engineering domain.$182,520 - $297,000 a yearTarget base Salary for this role is $182,520 - $297,000 per year. Additional compensation in the form(s) of equity and/or commission are dependent on the position offered. Plaid provides a comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
