The team located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, provides EDA solutions inside and outside Applied, focused on physical layout and design rules. Software includes automatic generation of standard cell layouts, design rule checking, definition, and validation. It has complex algorithms and performance challenges (both runtime and memory).

We are looking for an experienced software engineer that has developed complex algorithms to efficiently find solutions for very complex optimization problems.

Key responsibilities

Work with a team of algorithmic specialists to research, design and develop complex algorithmsInterface with internal customers for requirements analysis and schedulePerform software tests on code and enhancementsCompile data for regularly scheduled or special reports, analysis, and statements.Shared ownership of significantly sized software

Key requirements

MSc in Computer Science with more than 10 years of relevant experienceHas deep knowledge of combinatorial optimization algorithms, including but not limited to graph algorithms, dynamic programming, back-tracking and the corresponding data-structuresProven abilities to analyze algorithmic complexity (both memory and runtime)Is known to use of heuristics to solve NP-complete problemsExperience with developing software for the EDA or Semiconductor businessExperience in larger software engineering projects, working in a teamFluent in C++
