Direct Financial Advice is the telephonic financial advice business unit within Personal Finance in Old Mutual. As a Financial Advisor in the Full Advice Space, you will have the opportunity to work in a telephonic environment providing clients with financial advice and intermediary services to help them make sound financial decisions and achieve their financial objectives. You will be enabled by receiving comprehensive in-house training, the necessary system and management support to assist you in building a successful career as a Financial Adviser. The role is about championing our valued customers to achieve their lifetime financial goals.
This role has been identified to provide customers with financial advice and intermediary services under the FAIS Act and, as a result, the successful candidates must therefore comply with all FAIS requirements of a matric or equivalent, including the Fit and Proper requirements of Honesty and Integrity (e.g., be clear of any offence relating to fraud, dishonesty and/or any professional misconduct) as well as competence and relevant qualifications.
Key areas of responsibility
Financial Advice
Providing a full spectrum of personal financial planning solutions and advice i.e., personal risk protection, investment solutions, estate planning, retirement planning, tax planning and advice to ensure customers address their short, medium and long-term financial needs, thus enabling them to achieve their current and future personal objectives and attain financial security.Determine clients' current income, expenses, insurance coverage, tax status, financial objectives, risk appetite or tolerance, investment experience and other information needed to develop an appropriate financial plan and implement suitable financial planning recommendations.Ensure the recommended financial solutions and/or investment products addresses the client’s specific needs – e.g., investing for retirement, education, emergency fund, investing for growth, general savings, retirement income, business assurance, death, disability, critical illness, funeral etc.Advise and inform clients on the benefits and features including fees and charges associated with all the risk protection and investment solutions for them to make informed financial and investment decisions.Review clients' financial plans and investment portfolios regularly to determine whether life situation changes, economic changes or market or investment performance indicate a need for portfolio changes and investment funds switches.Identify and implement necessary changes and updates in the client’s holistic financial plan and investment portfolios.Monitor local and global financial or securities markets, industry and economic trends to ensure investment performance and expected returns is in line with the customer’s objectives, investment strategy and their risk appetite. Ensure compliance to rules, guidelines, legislation, organisational processes and procedures in order to minimize any advice and business risk.Use appropriate financial planning and investment tools, applications and technology in a professional, client centric manner.Timeous execution of leads to ensure a seamless customer experience for prospective and existing clients.Managing information and effectively apply any changes in operational requirements, new products, campaigns, rate changes, rulings, industry regulations and training updates.Effectively handle client queries professionally and providing necessary financial advice.Productivity
