Experienced Bookeeper
**Job Specifications:** - **Job Type:** Full-Time - **Location:** Newport News - **Pay Rate:** up to $25 - **Shift:** 8am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday **Roles and Responsibilities:** - Match, approve, enter, and pay vendor invoices for materials and supplies. - Process payments via check, credit card, and ACH. - Communicate with vendors regarding invoice or payment issues. - Maintain a Business Debt Schedule for long-term liabilities. - Organize and maintain accounting paper and digital files, including annual document storage. - Resolve issues with customers, vendors, and supervisors in a timely manner. - Communicate frequently with customers’ A/P contacts to maintain positive relationships. - Manage collections as needed through phone and email. - Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts monthly or as required. - Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including all associated taxes and garnishments. - Track and pay employee garnishments and liens. - Prepare quarterly payroll tax returns and maintain notes for month-end and year-end financial statements. **Qualifications & Skills:** **- 3-5 years of experience with QuickBooks, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.** - Proficient in managing vendor relationships and resolving payment issues. - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion. - Experience in payroll processing and tax return preparation is a plus.
