The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs’ corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm’s distinctive culture. We are responsible for safeguarding the firm’s relationship with alumni, clients, shareholders, policy makers, and the broader public, while ensuring that our own people remain informed about the firm’s evolving priorities. We also partner with the businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firm’s social and sustainability agendas.

The Office of Corporate Engagement 

The Goldman Sachs Office of Corporate Engagement coordinates the global philanthropic efforts of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (Goldman Sachs), including strategic partnerships, charitable giving, and employee volunteerism.

Corporate Engagement is comprised of the Goldman Sachs Foundation, Goldman Sachs Gives, 10,000 Women, 10,000 Small Businesses, and Community TeamWorks (CTW).

10,000 Small Businesses (10KSB) is a $750 million initiative to unlock the growth and job-creation potential of small businesses across the United States through greater access to business education, support services and financial capital. It is based on the broadly held view of leading experts that a combination of education, capital and support services best addresses the barriers to growth for small businesses.

Responsibilities include serving as a program officer for five or more markets/regions and managing associated grants, managing strategic partnerships and consultants to advance program goals, and leading thought leadership initiatives inclusive of research and program events.

Principal Responsibilities

Serve as a 10,000 Small Businesses Program Officer across specific program locationsDevelop and manage relationships with community colleges, local partners, and local stakeholders, including as part of the program’s Investment in Rural Communities expansionWork with Babson College to provide oversight of local and statewide programsWork with the community college and Initiative for a Competitive Inner City to oversee the application and selection processOversee, manage, and execute grants for assigned program locationsManage engagement of GS employees in local programmingTrack monitoring and evaluation across local programsOversee maintenance of 10KSB work plans, budgets, calendar and other organizational spreadsheets and documentsCoordinate with 10,000 Small Businesses Voices team across alumni engagement initiatives and alumni communicationFacilitate development and implementation of local alumni programmingRepresent the firm and program at events and conferences across the United States; serve as an “ambassador” of the firm and program Lead, develop, support and execute national thought leadership events and stakeholder engagement opportunities across local marketsProject manage cross-program operating tools such as Salesforce, digital alumni hub, and the grants management processCoordinate with Babson College, internal brand and media teams and consultants to analyze program impact data and publish reports that highlight program impact and elevate alumni stories   Functionally, serve as a point of contact for internal and external partnerships related to program innovations, particularly with respect to:Ensuring buy-in and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholdersEffectively communicating program to potential new local partnersHelping to implement and track success of programming in new markets and training new local partners in the program’s processManaging and executing working groups on various special projects that include GS colleagues and 10KSB partnersDevelop and share 10KSB best practices that can be applied across sites and to the national programCreate presentations, talking points, briefing materials, and strategy documents for various meetings and events, ensuring incorporation of group feedback and quick turnaround of final product

Basic Qualifications

At least 7-8 years’ experience in operations and business managementHighest degree of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy and discretionProven tactical execution experience including strategy development, operations, and budget analysisAbility to quickly learn and apply grants management best practicesProven project management skills, with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, and complete attention to detailExperience managing partnerships and relationships across multiple organizations and geographiesTeam player, and skilled at managing internal and external teams and junior staff on a given projectKeen problem solver with exceptional written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills in person, on phone, and by email and voicemailFlexible and willing to work extended hours and travel when requiredSelf-motivated with ability to work independently as well as in teamProficiency with PowerPoint, Excel and Word for presentations and data analysis

Proven experience managing high-level relationships, across all sectors
 

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
