 How will you make an impact in this role?

Acquire new merchants leading a large multi city team, driving intentional volumes from the new sales by proactively servicing & enrolling them on specific programs Lead a large multi-city team towards meeting the Amex objective of parity coverage in the market  Partner with Issuers International Consumer and Small Business Services, Global Network Services, Global Corporate Card in terms of integrating merchants to strengthen card value proposition Drive marketing platform programs and merchant activation programs in alignment with Global Network and Marketing Information and Membership Executive team - Grow Discount Business Volume through specific programs with relevant merchants – Recurring Billings, Merchant Bonus, IPG, etc. Develop in-depth understanding of the marketplace  Proactively conduct research and various data gathering activities, including networking and reading, to understand the market/industry, Amex’s competition, and issues impacting the customer’s business, use SMART reports extensively to acquire and retain large merchants Develop in-depth understanding of the customer  Place value on knowing all aspects of customer’s business, including organizational structure, culture, and personalities  Manage an effective pipeline of opportunities  Identify potential opportunities against major business drivers  Influence customer decisions - Work in partnership with the customer as a problem solver by clearly identifying the needs that will influence customer’s “buying decision” Differentiate American Express value  Maximize all interactions with the customer to demonstrate the unique value of American Express products and services to customer’s specific needs

 

 

Skills and Qualifications:

•            *5+ years’ Experience in Merchant acquisition. Top holdouts

•            In-depth understanding of cards/payments business (issuing & acquiring ecosystem)

•            Robust financial acumen like P&L understanding

•            Understanding of new development technologies in POS machines

•            Consultative selling skills (must be able to make presentations in English and Spanish) to client´s Senior Management. 

•            Handling objections

•            Negotiation enabled by data & analytics

•            Knowledge of external insights & competitive landscape

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

•            Business Administration Bachelor´s Degree, Finance. MBA is a plus

•            100% Sales hunter, High level of English language (oral and written) is a must, self-motivated, team player.
