WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: As the Executive Director, you serve as the primary liaison to communities in highly complex markets with a population at or over 1.5 million to support region-led mission capacity building and fulfillment. Inform the regional leadership team of community needs and perceptions and strengthen relationships across the community through comprehensive communication of American Red Cross programs, capabilities, and opportunities for community involvement. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD: Dynamic Leadership of the Southern Missouri Chapter: As the Chapter’s leader, you will be the vital link between the American Red Cross and the communities we serve, ensuring our presence is deeply felt and our mission creates lasting change. You will expand our impact, forging strong connections to ensure that the Red Cross is woven into the fabric of the community.Building Transformative Relationships: You will be a key ambassador, cultivating meaningful relationships with influential community leaders, businesses, philanthropists, and elected officials. Your leadership will drive the achievement of chapter and regional goals by expanding the reach and capacity of the Red Cross in Southern Missouri.Championing an Influential Board of Directors: You will develop and lead a diverse, influential, and well-connected Board of Directors, empowering these local champions to galvanize resources and support for the Red Cross. Your role will ensure the Board’s effectiveness in driving the Red Cross mission forward.Inspiring Strategic Leadership: As a visionary leader, you will inspire and motivate a high-performing team of volunteers and employees through influence to exceed fundraising, blood collection, and mission delivery goals. Your ability to think strategically and inspire others will shape the future of the Red Cross in Southern Missouri and have a lasting impact within its communities.Creating a Culture of Inclusion and Belonging: You will leverage your influence to foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring employees and volunteers feel empowered to work as a cohesive, mission-driven team for impact and community outcomes.Visionary Chapter Planning: You’ll spearhead the chapter’s annual planning process, identifying key areas where we can make the greatest impact in the community. Your vision will directly shape the outcomes we deliver in partnership with the communities we serve.Key Regional Leadership Role: As a member of the Missouri-Arkansas Regional Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Regional CEO, playing an integral role in shaping the direction and success of the American Red Cross in the region.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):Education: Bachelor's degree required.Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.Management Experience: NASkills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team. Knowledge of applicable principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences.*Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
