Executive Director
In close concert, collaboration, and coordination with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders, advance the organization’s mission and program goals to build and repair affordable housing within SFHFH territory. To achieve that mission and these goals, maintain beneficial connections within the community, with local building/construction and governmental entities, as well as with local builders and developers. Ensure compliance with Habitat for Humanity International Operational Policies and Procedures.

Specific ResponsibilitiesBoard Relationship and Accountability: The Executive Director (ED) is accountable to and shall report to the Board of Directors and its Executive Committee. Reports on the activities and functioning of the corporation shall be submitted to the Board monthly as part of the monthly Board meeting materials. The ED shall attend Board meetings, unless the Board meets in executive sessions, and shall act as a resource for the Board in its decision-making process. The ED shall work with the Board to develop policies and plans, both long-range and short-term, and shall ensure implementation of decisions taken by the Board. The ED shall recommend to the Board new projects and directions for the corporation and shall alert the Board to trends in affordable housing, including legislation, grants, building code change, and materials re-cycling opportunities. The ED shall administer an orientation and training course for new Board members as well as help to recruit qualified board members.Operational Oversight & Management: The ED provides daily oversight and direction for all affiliate programs including home construction, home repair, and the ReStore. The ED is responsible for the daily, routine management of the affairs of the corporation, including making management decisions not requiring Board action. The ED will be responsible for property selection/acquisition (e.g., monitoring Santa Fe Board of County Commissioner actions approving new land developments), development, and permitting with the input of the Construction Director, Finance Director, Development Director, and if necessary, the Executive Committee. The ED will support the selection and qualification of homeowners. The ED is responsible for taking all legal actions necessary to protect property owned by or mortgaged through Habitat. The ED will provide leadership for the organization, staff, and volunteers. The ED shall be responsible for ensuring that all administrative functions and reporting are done accurately and in a timely manner. The ED shall be responsible for public accountability of the corporation; for the proper and ethical use of resources, assets, and staff; for fulfilling the legal obligations of the corporation; for maintenance of proper insurance coverage; and for maintenance of facilities and equipment. Financial Management and Development: The ED shall oversee and direct the financial operations of the corporation including the preparation and submission to the Board of an annual operating budget. The ED shall administer the approved budget, and shall ensure accountability of funds, proper record keeping, payment of all bills, collection of debts, and preparation of required audits and financial reports. The ED is responsible for maintaining the corporations standing with any external, independent charitable ranking or reporting entities. The ED shall coordinate the donation, purchase, or lease of real property and the closing of home sales including preparation of closing documents. The ED shall coordinate the preparation of loan applications and the sale and service of mortgages. The ED shall take an active role in funds development including fundraising and grant procurement. Personnel: The ED shall provide overall control and direction for the personnel function of the corporation, ensuring that all employees are performing their duties to the best benefit of SFHFH. The ED shall supervise all staff whether paid or unpaid including director-level employees as appointed, including the Construction Director, Finance Director, ReStore Director, Development Director, and Volunteer and Family Services Director. The ED shall conduct employee performance evaluations annually using established SFHFH procedures. The ED will conduct the performance evaluations of the director-level staff with the input of the staff under them and with the other directors. The Executive Committee will conduct the performance evaluation of the ED with the input of the Directors and, as necessary, the Board, staff, and regular volunteers. The ED shall be responsible for hiring and terminating employees; however, the Executive Board will review hiring and termination of Director-level positions. The ED shall be responsible for training and communicating information to volunteers and paid staff which will enable them to do their jobs better and fulfill the mission of the organization.Committee Relations: The ED reports to the Executive Committee and the Finance Committee concerning the administrative operations of SFHFH. The ED works closely with the President of the Corporation. The ED shall implement the actions taken by the Executive Committee or the Board. The ED also coordinates the activities of the operating committees and considers any actions taken by those committees in the administration of the SFHFH. The ED shall provide guidance and support to the committees and will attend committee meetings as required. The ED shall also attend, to the extent possible, events sponsored by committees. Community and Public Relations: The ED shall represent SFHFH in the community and to government entities. The ED will work with the Directors and the Board to project and protect the image of SFHFH through the use of social media, print media, and public appearances. The ED, with the permission of the President of the Board and the Finance Committee, may be involved with professional and social service groups that support the SFHFH mission and attend such meetings or conferences. The ED shall maintain good working relationships with Habitat International, the regional office of Habitat, and neighboring affiliates. Other: The ED must communicate effectively both in writing and orally. The ED shall perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors or the President of the Board.

Qualifications and Experience
* Impeccable integrity.
* Demonstrated success and specific skills in top leadership positions.
* Demonstrated achievement and measurable, quantitative success with fundraising.
* Possess or quickly establish, strengthen, and sustain extensive, relevant, and meaningful relationships in the City of * Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, and the State of New Mexico.
* Demonstrated experience with leading a similar-sized nonprofit organization.
* Excellent listening, speaking, reading, and writing communication skills.
* Computer skills for Microsoft Office products, Outlook, and Database software.
* BA Degree or the equivalent
* 10 years of experience

Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
