General Description:
We are seeking a talented and engaging regional financial leader to lead the European commercial finance organization. With the ability to work in a hybrid work environment, the ED, Commercial Finance Europe will be a strategic business partner to the European Commercial organization and lead a team of F&PA leaders that provide, engage and lead the partnership with the business partners through strategic leadership, execution of key priorities, and providing thoughtful challenge and insightful analysis. The commercial finance team plays a key role in the day-to-day financial management of the business with ownership of the overall budget and plan. The incumbent will also sit on the European Leadership Team.
The candidate must be a highly motivated global leader who possesses excellent communication, business partnering and global leadership and collaboration capabilities.
Essential Functions of the job:
Lead the strategy, execution and implementation of European-related finance specific programs, projects and collaborations that support global commercial functional objectives, including revenue generation, expense management as well as resource allocations and trade off decision makings
Lead financial planning & analysis (Long Range Planning, Annual Operating Plan, Quarterly Forecasting), and management reporting for the European Commercial organization.
Lead the overall budget and forecast planning through engagement with business and other partners, ensure financial targets are met, provide insightful input into reporting and variances.
Strategic partner providing financial decision support on new product launches, lifecycle management, market access expansion
Effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external consultants to achieve success
Remaining up to date on best practices and applicable laws and regulations
Manage a regional team of commercial FP&A professionals to meet deliverables by setting expectations, providing ongoing performance feedback, creating opportunities, and developing goals.
Foster continuous improvement environment to streamline, improve, and automate processes.
Qualifications:
Proven regional Commercial FP&A leadership with multinational and multi-entity/regional P&L management experience including in Europe.
Bachelors’ Degree required, post-graduate degree (MBA) preferred
Pharmaceutical/BioTech or related industry experience preferred
Minimum of 12 years of FP&A experience with at least 8 years in supporting the commercial organization.
Familiarity with applicable software and system applications
Must demonstrate a conceptual and business-oriented approach to communicating financial practices and be able to effectively communicate with and influence non-financial business leaders.
Strong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements, including the use of new technology and automation tools.
Ability to work in a global, fast-paced environment with great attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage critical timelines.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong work ethic with a hands-on, resourceful approach and emphasis on teamwork and integrity.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The incumbent will lead a team of regional finance professionals.
Provide coaching and development to direct reports and their teams
Complete all HR-related processes such as Talent Review, Performance Management and Compensation Planning.
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree required; Masters’ degree preferred.
Computer Skills: Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and Financial Systems
