JOB SUMMARY:
Provide sophisticated administrative support for the Dean and the school. Responsible for overall coordination of communications, schedules, records, and budgets. Manages administrative staff.
SALARY INFORMATION:
In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.

REPORTS TO:Dean
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
+ Monitor Derner’s budgets and help the dean develops the budget.
+ Help administrators and administrative assistants manage their unit budgets.
+ Compose standard correspondence and draft complex communications.
+ Schedule appointments and screen telephone calls and visitors.
+ Make arrangements for meetings and conferences, including travel itineraries.
+ Organize and maintain correspondence and record system, including confidential files.
+ Assist with complex issues, often of a confidential nature.
+ Communicate and/or coordinate Dean’s instructions with various individuals and/or programs.
+ Prepare reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries, selecting relevant information from various sources.
+ Facilitate preparation of materials for faculty hiring, reappointments and promotions, provide support to UPRC chair.
+ Coordinate committee reports and meeting minutes.
+ Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Dean.
REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
+ Excellent verbal and writing skills.
+ Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
+ Good organization skills and attention to detail.
+ Good interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and accurately.
+ Ability to be discrete and maintain high confidentiality on a wide range of issues.
+ Knowledge of University policies and procedures preferred.
+ Good computer skills for using Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Administrative Systems and E-mail.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
+ Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
+ Three years of administrative experience is required.
