This is primarily a Monday – Friday full-time, permanent position based out of our either our Queenstown or Cromwell depots, depending on your location. Overtime is available on occasional weekends.

 

You will have plenty of experience operating Excavators (1.5T - 30T) within the civil construction industry – particularly in drainage and roading projects. You will have an organised and systematic approach to the work environment and take pride in your work . You will also:

Hold Class 2 drivers’ licence with W, T, R endorsements (Class 4, 5 an advantage)Hold strong planning skills and the ability to deal with unexpected events and problem solveBe physically fit and able to carry out manual tasksBe able to demonstrate Leadership qualities that empower others

 

As an Excavator Operator, you’ll primarily be operating and driving machinery including diggers, loaders, and other plant to perform trench excavation, bulk earthworks, concreting, curb line dig outs and general backfilling. You will also need to help the team with kerb laying, concreting, pipe laying and general support when excavation work is on pause.
