Events and Ops PR Specialist, Amazon Ads Comms
Description Amazon Ads seeks a high-judgment, self-motivated and highly organized public relations professional to oversee planning, coordination, and media activity across events in which Amazon Ads participates. Working closely with Amazon Ads Marketing, this role requires a strategic thinker with experience in managing high-profile events, a strong background in public relations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and executing creative owned and earned communications strategies, tactics, and content from our events; working closely with internal teams to ensure effective communication of event objectives, timelines, and deliverables; liaising with key Amazon executives as well as brands and partners; developing and maintaining strong relationships with media contacts to secure event coverage in target media; preparing press materials, and crafting event-related communications and social media content; creating post-event analysis to measure event impact and drive ongoing improvements for future events. Additionally, this role will have responsibility for ensuring that the Amazon Ads Comms team utilises both internal and external tools to illustrate best in class ways of working, operational efficiency, and effective use of all resources. Key job responsibilities - Define, develop, and oversee end-to-end execution of PR strategy for all Amazon Ads events - Provide strategic PR counsel and support to business leaders - Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected challenges - Work cross-functionally to plan and execute PR campaigns for Amazon Ads events - Serve as a global liaison for international PR teams, helping to support international event participation - Develop and strengthen relationships with key brands, partners, and journalists - Ensuring Amazon Ads Comms team effectively utilises internal and external tools to drive operational efficiency Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience - Bachelor's degree Preferred Qualifications - Experience writing for a range of audiences and formats, including social, copy-writing and speech writing - Experience working internationally, including with media across multiple regions - Experience with business-critical communications Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
