POSITION OVERVIEW:As an Estimator at TAS Energy, you will work with our Applications Engineering team to analyze project specifications, conduct material takeoffs, develop materials and labor cost estimations, and prepare accurate bids for projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of construction processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and production staff, to ensure the seamless integration of modular solutions into our manufacturing operations.    KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Project Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope, requirements, and timelines.Cost Estimation: Utilize cost estimation software and historical data to accurately calculate material, labor, and equipment costs.Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids for projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements.Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Work with Procurement to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to secure the best value for materials and services.Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure alignment on project objectives and requirements.Manufacturing Collaboration: Work closely with production staff on the shop floor to understand the means and methods of routing conduit, cable tray, wiring, piping, steel, etc.Documentation: Maintain detailed records of project estimates, bids, and correspondence for future reference and analysis.Management Interaction: Communicate effectively with management to address inquiries, clarify project details, and present proposals.Continuous Improvement:  Conduct thorough research on materials, manufacturing techniques, and industry trends to inform the design process and enhance the performance of modular solutions.Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times, promoting a culture of compliance and excellence in modular design and manufacturing.Other tasks as assigned by TAS. JOB SKILLS:Proficiency in CAD software.  Revit and AutoCAD experience is required.  Experience in SolidWorks and other relevant design tools is preferred.Strong proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and negotiation skills.EDUCATION & TRAININGBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry (3+ years).Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) are a plus.In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly techniques, with a focus on modular construction methods.  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with computer.
