What You’ll Do:

Develops accurate and complete cost/price proposals in response to solicitations in VGS's core business lines, inclusive of a Basis of Estimate (BOE), Request for Proposal (RFP)-required documentation and/or Company PolicyDevelops cost proposals in response to government solicitations.Provides analysis of cost data to support Government solicitations; Assist others in developing Project/Existing Contracts cost models and schedulesLeads cost review sessions to senior leadershipPrepare simple scope and bid package breakdowns for subcontract and vendor quotes, when requiredReview scope of work changes and impact on original estimates/proposals; Perform Quality Control and In-Depth reviewsDevelops and maintains working relationship fellow Cost Estimating and Pricing PersonnelReports to the Senior Leader position in the Estimating/Pricing DepartmentResearch RFPs, Statement of Work (SOW) and other proposal documents necessary to develop and populate complete, competitive cost proposals within corporate and client constraintsEmploys a variety of estimating methods to present accurate costing factors for labor, material, equipment, tools, vehicles, and ODCsDevelops estimate timeline and schedule of internal and external cost/price deliverablesDevelops and prepares Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Basis of Estimate (BOE) for non-complex services-based project proposals. Document methodology and assumptions, in a narrative formatIncorporates WBS (staffing, direct, indirect and overhead costs) defined by self and others into the cost model, consistent with the solicitation requirementsEmploy cost modeling in Excel and communicates with the subject matter experts to accurately estimate details consistent with the solution designEnsures that accurate and sufficient supporting cost documentation is provided to ensure compliant internal and external audit postureGenerate and organize final cost proposal deliverables for submissionLead and participate in cost reviewsParticipate in basis of estimate development and other estimating strategiesPerforms related work as assignedAccountable for accuracy of data entered into cost models and compliance with the corporate bidding and estimating process

What You’ll Bring: 

Knowledge of FAR, DFAR and other government regulations as related to proposal developmentBachelor’s Degree plus 5 years of relevant experience2 years’ experience in a senior project estimating role(s) or 4+ years in project estimating roles (in lieu of degree); 7-9 years totalExperience working with projects at the $50M levelSuccessful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screenComply with company drug and alcohol policy.Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.

Preferred Skills:

Professional associations or certifications for cost estimating or related field.Thorough understanding of various contract types from Firm Fixed Price (FP), IDIQ, T&M to Cost Reimbursable (CR)Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Demonstrated skill in the use of MS Excel at the advanced level and at an intermediate level in the use of other MS office and related software.

Location Requirements

The position will primarily work remotely.

Compensation 

Expected Salary: $80,000 – $90,000
