We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary intermittent ESRF Test Engineer with the EP5 Battery team to join the team
The expected work for this position will take place from May 19th to June 13th, 2025. This team evaluates candidate battery cells and battery pack designs for use in the space environment. This is a relatively small team that works very closely together. The EP5 Battery Team is responsible for conducting Battery testing within the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) multiple times a year, and is in need of uniquely qualified personnel who can travel to support this testing. This is a temporary position and international travel, non-standard work schedules, and over-time will be required.

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Have experience supporting Fractional Thermal-Runaway Calorimeter (FTRC) testing Have experience operating in an international test facility (ideally, the ESRF) Have experience conducting test campaigns lasting >24 hours Have the experience, ability, and willingness to work a 12 hour shift multiple days in a row Have strong communication skills, both verbally and written Demonstrate significant attention to detail in an off-nominal environment Have the ability to lift and carry up to 30lbm for a short distance The candidate must possess a passport for internation travelRequisition Preferences\:

Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
