Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an ESM Electronics Engineer/Principal ESM Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL.
**This position may be filled by either at the ESM Electronics Engineer level OR at the Principal ESM Electronics Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.**
The successful candidate will have knowledge of ESM RF systems and demonstrated experience in the practical application of theory in the design, development, or repair of EW/ECM systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Defining ESM Receiver architectures for System simulation or Performance Evaluation
Understanding ESM Receiver detection techniques and be able to analyze microwave electromagnetic radiation to form output emitter reports.
Defining and Analyzing RF Signal data processing techniques and generation of appropriate display signals to a user interface.
Defining Emitter Target Identification, Direction of Arrival (DOA) information, and Passive Ranging techniques on varying types of RF emitter detections.
Performing RF Loss / Link Loss Budget Analysis using various toolsets.
Perform modeling and analysis of RF networks using HFSS, EMIT, and STK in support of antenna placement and cosite analysis.
Conduct trade studies for RF/ESM and EW subsystem architectures.
Interaction with ESM suppliers for integration of Antenna and Receiver Processor systems into the lab.
Authoring of Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW), Source Control Documentation, and Interface Control Documents (ICD).
Manage suppliers, review and analyze supplier design data, define functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration, and support test execution.
Basic Qualifications:
ESM Electronics Engineer (T02):
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Experience in ESM/RF/EW/ECM Systems on various different platforms
Basic Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Experience in ESM/RF/EW/ECM Systems on various different platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with USN industry standards and tools related to Emitter Library Development
Experience with RF based test equipment to include spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters
Familiarity with Emitter Types, RF Parameters, and challenges Identifying and Detecting Emitters in a High Pulse Density Environment.
Ability to understand and analyze Emitter Geolocation Techniques (Time Division of Arrival), SBI, and LBI.
Ability to analyze different ESM Scan Strategies and Revisit Rates to optimize Signal Detection to meet system performance requirements.
Experience with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429 and Ethernet communication protocols
Agile Scrum and Jira Experience
Experience designing to RTCA DO-254 hardware standard for airborne electronic systems

Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00Salary Range 2: $0.00 - $0.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
