SCF HQ Risk Area, the Enterprise & Non-Financial Risk department, is looking for an Analyst for ESG Risk, Risk Profile Assessment and Strategic Risk, based in our Boadilla del Monte (Madrid) office.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
As an Analyst, you will be supporting the function’s ESG Risk management as a second line of defence and will collaborate with the other risk functions, first line functions and with Group areas. You will help in identifying the main risks the entity is or might be exposed to, assess the entity’s risk profile for the different risk types, individually and holistically, and support the Strategic risk function in reporting and challenge processes to financial planning and the budget. This includes performing these processes for the SCF Group and the Western Hub and coordinating these exercises for the local units and joint ventures within the entire SCF geography and occasionally the global Digital Consumer Bank.
We need someone like you to help us on three different fronts:
- ESG Risks:
o Support the ESG Risk Strategy and coordinate ESG Risk related initiatives across different risk factors withing the group and across the different business units, including framework enhancements.
o Monitor and report on the evolution of ESG risks through KRIs and Risk Appetite metrics.
o Periodically review the ESG Risks Materiality Assessment.
o Perform a 2LoD oversight of all Green Finance initiatives.
o Collaborate in regulatory disclosure requirements such as Pillar III ESG, Short Term Exercise, Net Zero Banking Alliance, etc., by challenging the assumptions and results.
- Risk Identification and Assessment:
o Top & Emerging Risks: a process for the early identification of potential threats to the profitability, solvency or strategic objectives of the entity. Heavily influenced by macroeconomic and geopolitical research team in the Group
o Risk Map: a process to evaluate the materiality of the different risk types for the entity considering potential for loss and its impact.
o Risk Profile Assessment: a process to provide a holistic, systematic, objective and comparable representation at a given point-in-time of the entity’s risk profile, using a corporate methodology. This is performed for all 20-or-so within SCF.
- Strategic Risk:
o Maintain the strategic risk model and ensure its embedding in the Bank’s business units, monitor strategic risk in the developments in the Bank and its business units and conduct risk challenges to the financial plan and budget.
o The candidate will be supporting the responsible Sr. Analyst for these processes both at SCF Group and Western Hub levels, as well as for the coordination, support and oversight to the local units and joint ventures within the SCF footprint.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum two years in risk-related areas is preferable but no a necessity. Other experiences will be considered.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, law or technical degrees.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Languages: excellent command of English to be able to nuance requests (necessary). Valuable: Spanish, French, German.
- Knowledge of the risk management, financial and non-financial, in banking but experience from other industries is welcomed. Must have prior knowledge or an eagerness to learn about EGS Risks.
- Soft skills: teamwork, communication, forward-looking mindset, comprehensive view, problem-solving, leadership.
- Office tools (Excel, Power Point, etc.).
