Job Description
Summary
Performs as an advanced electro-mechanical equipment technician. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of manufacturing equipment for a fast-paced leading manufacturer of starting and ground power batteries designed for a wide variety of Business Aviation, General Aviation, and Military applications.
The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experienced working with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems and a variety of other electro-mechanical & semi-automated equipment. Experienced with automation equipment and systems will be ideal, but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs Preventive and Reparative Maintenance for manufacturing equipment, R&D equipment and tooling & fixtures.Ability to troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing equipment to electrical, mechanical and safety standards. This includes working with packaging machines, welders, leak testers, conveyers, ovens, labelers, epoxy equipment, and a variety of other electro-mechanical and semi-automated equipment.Utilizes advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills for evaluations and problem-solving.Performs repairs and corrective maintenance to equipment with a high degree of quality and reliability so that the equipment is capable of operating within the required. specifications.Diagnoses cause of electrical and mechanical malfunction or failure of manufacturing equipment and apply corrective action to resolve re-occurring issues.Ability to utilize various diagnostic equipment and measuring devices such as voltmeters, calipers, micrometers, and oscilloscopes for troubleshooting and monitoring equipment performance.Ensure that all equipment is maintained up to date, including the latest software, and solid understanding of next generation technologies.As needed, modifies equipment to improve up-time or overall process performance.Makes decisions and solves problems from analyzing information and evaluating results.Supports projects related to equipment & lines moves; overhauls & upgrades; equipment qualifications (e.g. SAT, FAT, IOQ) and commissioning & decommissioning related activities.Helps maintain spare part inventories. Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.Ability to perform equipment development activities under the direction of the engineering team. Activities including assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes and/or electronics, completing engineering studies and qualifications.Work closely with equipment integrators and suppliers to maintain and repair equipment to standards and equipment life cycle requirements.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment drawings, manuals and procedures.Provide technical SME support for equipment issues and lead projects to address complex technical equipment problems to prevent reoccurrence.Follow Teledyne’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program.Uphold the operational efficiency of machine line operations through maintenance, repair, and parts replacement.A working knowledge of PC based Microsoft office. Experience with computerized maintenance management software relevant to spare parts management, work order creation, and Preventive Maintenance preferred.Support the development and refinement of preventative maintenance procedures and actively participate in the design and implementation of special operational efficiency improvement projects.Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Associate Degree in a technical field or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.Or equivalent combination of education and experience.6-8+ years’ experience as an equipment maintenance technician.Manufacturing automation equipment experience is a plus.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to identify and explain the use of special measuring devices; Use table weights and measurements; ability to use formulas to solve basic problems, including volume, circumference, right triangles using Pythagorean theorem.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to enter time and data into a computer system using basic computer knowledge.
Other Qualifications: Valid driver’s license.
Salary Range:
$41,800.00-$55,880.000Pay Transparency
