Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled Equipment Engineer to lead tool maintenance, optimization, and strategic improvement initiatives within our semiconductor manufacturing facility. You will play a key role in maximizing equipment uptime, supporting process stability, and driving cost-efficiency.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead the installation, qualification, maintenance, and continuous improvement of complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
+ Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting chronic tool issues and implementing long-term corrective actions.
+ Analyze tool performance data (OEE, MTBF, MTTR) and drive strategies to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
+ Collaborate with process engineering, production, and facilities teams to support operational goals.
+ Manage vendor relationships for tool upgrades, spare parts, and service contracts.
+ Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
+ Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects including new tool introduction, capacity expansion, and yield improvement initiatives.
+ Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, cleanroom standards, and quality systems.
+ Provide detailed documentation and reports on tool status, repair history, and improvement initiatives.
+ Position may require periodic travel to subcontractor sites in Asia.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
+ Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in equipment engineering within a semiconductor fabrication (front-end or back-end) environment.
+ Deep technical knowledge of one or more toolsets (e.g., Xcerra ASL1000 testers, Rasco, XuFeng and equivalent gravity-feed test handlers, Ismeca, Existech and equivalent rotary/turret test handlers is desirable ).
+ Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SPC, FMEA, RCA, and use of data analysis tools (Excel, JMP, Minitab, etc.).
+ Hands-on experience with automation systems, tool control software, and equipment troubleshooting.
+ Excellent communication, documentation, and project management skills.
