SHIFT: Full Time

STARTING RATE: $15.60/HOUR ($15.60 up to $17.xx (and change) per hour, dependent upon verified experience).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Environmental Services Worker is responsible for performing laundry, housekeeping, and floor care services as scheduled by the Environmental Services Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Handles all laundry per sanitary guidelines Assures that an adequate supply of clean linens is maintained and distributed to all departments to meet daily needs Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories. Uses proper formula for processing soiled linen to adequately clean/dry and protect linen Applies basic math to fill carts and record poundage Lifts and carries loads of laundry to and from cleaning equipment Washes, dries, folds, and hangs all laundry neatly and adequately and weighs linens Identifies personal laundry with resident’s name and remarks personal clothing items, if needed Returns clean resident laundry to appropriate rooms, closets, dressers, and supply areas. Remove all empty hangers from the closets Keeps the washing machine supplied with chemical products at all times Keeps work area clean and neat at all times and performs cleaning assignments as scheduled or directed Works in cooperation with all other facility employees to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for residents and staff. Exhibit an attitude of helpfulness, team spirit, and support to all team members Using a floor care machine, strips, wax, and buff facility floors Housekeeping responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing rooms or other assigned areas, changing linens, changing glassware, and removing debris. Specific duties include dusting and polishing, cleaning all furniture and accessories, washing windows and mirrors, removing stains or marks, and emptying all trash. Housekeeping aides clean and sanitize bathing spaces, sinks, and toilets; vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping are also included in their duties. They check for damages to company property and submit reports to appropriate supervisors. Disposes of waste properly Completes work on time Constantly maintains high-performance standards regarding personal behavior and interactions with staff, community, and residents under various conditions and circumstances. Reports perceived problems to supervisor. Contributes ideas to rectify issues identified and follows corrective actions as directed by the supervisor Performs any other duties necessary as assigned by the supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred Must be able to work in close cooperation with others as well as independently Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
